- Monitor and respond to data security incidents and breaches, escalating issues promptly to ensure regulatory timelines are met.
- Analyse and remediate alerts related to data movement across email, web, SaaS, USB, and endpoints, helping to prevent data loss.
- Detect and prevent the storage of personal and sensitive data in unauthorised locations, maintaining dashboards and reporting findings.
- Maintain and update documentation for all data security processes and procedures, supporting compliance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across teams to raise awareness, promote a data-first security culture, and support cross-functional security initiatives.
- Support Data Governance activities to ensure effective management of data catalogue, metadata and business glossary. Support data quality, compliance, and stewardship initiatives to enhance data integrity and accountability.
- Contribute to Data Quality initiatives by monitoring data accuracy, completeness, and reliability, helping to identify and resolve issues.
- Assist with Data Privacy and Risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations and internal standards.
- Support AI Governance initiatives, ensuring responsible use of AI aligned with regulatory and organisational requirements.
Requirements
Do you have experience in NIST standards?, * An interest in data privacy and information security; for example demonstrated by basic knowledge of laws such as UK GPDR and security frameworks such as NIST.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and build collaborative relationships across teams.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude to identifying and mitigating risks.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Passion for championing a data-first security culture and driving continuous improvement across the business.
- You'll also need to have achieved, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:1 degree.
