Job description

This role sits within Aviva's Cloud Engineering team, supporting platform teams across the organisation to modernise their estate through containerised and serverless solutions. You'll lead the design and development of reusable patterns, provide expert consultancy during migrations, and ensure secure, resilient, and cost-effective solutions. You'll also act as a technical mentor and collaborate across teams to align with strategic initiatives like security and observability.

This role might suit someone who has hands-on experience with AWS ECS, EKS, and serverless technologies, and is excited to lead the development of reusable patterns and constructs. Whether you're an experienced engineer ready to take on more strategic responsibilities, or someone who's previously supported large-scale Kubernetes implementations and wants to broaden your influence, we'd love to hear from you., * Proven hands-on experience building and supporting AWS EKS/ECS clusters, and serverless technologies

  • Strong knowledge of Helm, GitOps (FluxCD/ArgoCD), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CDK - Python)
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or Jenkins
  • Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash) and a commitment to automation and secure coding practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement

  • Salary National Circa £70,000 and London £95,000 based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
