Job description
They're looking for a Solution Architect (Manager) to lead multi-skilled agile teams in designing and delivering high-quality solutions. You'll work closely with customer architects to define functional and non-functional designs, guide technical decisions, and ensure solutions meet both business and user needs. This role also involves managing, coaching, and developing a small team, sharing your expertise, and driving technical standards across the business.
What you'll do:
- Lead agile teams to design and deliver complex software solutions.
- Collaborate with customer architects to define and agree solution designs.
- Advise on effort, technical implications, and complexity of designs.
- Manage and develop team members, focusing on performance and career growth.
- Act as a technical leader, mentoring colleagues and contributing to organisational standards.
- Keep up to date with new technologies and approaches, advising teams and customers.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of whole solution architecture and ability to communicate designs effectively.
- Experience balancing non-functional requirements within solution designs.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure (SaaS and PaaS).
- Proven experience in the public sector and consulting, delivering solutions for government or enterprise clients.
- Clear communication skills across documentation, presentations, and discussions.
- Able to make informed technical decisions in fast-paced delivery environments.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and developing junior team members.
Desirable experience:
- Accountability for delivery across projects or multi-team programmes.
- Experience contributing to business development within accounts.
- Line management experience, including setting objectives and giving feedback.
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple major projects.
- Active participation in technology communities and sharing thought leadership.
