Job description
We have a new vacancy for a Technical Systems Engineer to be based in Shipley, reporting to the IT Systems Manager., The role will be responsible for supporting and continuously improving business systems across technical domains, with a strong focus on engineering and manufacturing operations. The Technical Systems Engineer will lead and contribute to systems projects, develop macros and automations scripts within CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environments, and deliver effective solutions that will enhance productivity and system integration between CAD, PLM and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Requirements
The successful candidate will provide technical support for engineering and manufacturing systems, ensuring high availability and performance. The candidate must able to demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills to be able to lead and support system related projects from planning through to implementation, and co-ordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to be able to ensure a successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who strives for continuous improvement and will contribute to the maintenance and evolution of technical standards across the business. The candidate will use planning and organisation in order to develop and deliver training, documentation, and user support to facilitate system adoption and effective usage., Candidates must hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related feild. The successful candidate will have experience following lean methodologies such as DMAIC, within project management. Additionally, they will also have experience with system administraton, and be able to demonstrate knowledge of CAD Software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Siemens NX. The ideal candidate must have a good knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and an understanding of MES, with a familiarity of PLM systems. Experience working with Low Code platforms, network configuration and troubleshooting, and experience with version control (Git) is desirable but not essential.
