Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) team that helps businesses unlock the full potential of their technology.

In this role, you'll design and deliver enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions across Microsoft, Azure, and virtualisation platforms. You'll work with a diverse range of clients, helping them modernise, migrate, and optimise their environments - all while driving innovation and best practice in every engagement.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and support Microsoft-based solutions including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
• Deliver consultancy across modern data centre technologies such as VMware/Hyper-V, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Lead migration and transformation projects from legacy to cloud and hybrid environments.
• Assess client infrastructures, identify risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end managed services and solutions.
• Provide technical input for proposals and solution design during pre-sales stages.
• Produce high-quality documentation and ensure projects are delivered to specification.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.

• Proven experience in enterprise or MSP environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies:
• Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy
• Microsoft 365, Exchange Online
• Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, networking, and security)
• Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Understanding of storage, networking, and backup solutions.
• Solid grasp of IT security principles in hybrid environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.

Desirable certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Solutions Architect / Security Engineer
• VMware VCP
• ITIL Foundation
• Vendor certifications such as Cisco, Veeam, NetApp, Dell/EMC, or HPE
