Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Applications Engineer to join our reputable team at Dalair LTD, part of the Swegon Group. In this role, you will play a vital part in the design, configuration, and technical support of our bespoke Air Handling Units and HVAC solutions, supporting our expanding UK client base. This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Wednesbury with opportunities for professional growth and development within a market-leading company. Key Responsibilities: Applications Engineering & Technical Support

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients and colleagues throughout the application, design, and implementation stages of bespoke Air Handling Unit projects.
  • Support Sales and Design Teams by interpreting client requirements, identifying optimal system configurations, and preparing accurate technical proposals.
  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth transition of projects from initial enquiry through to delivery and commissioning.
  • Prepare technical documentation and detailed equipment specifications tailored to customer needs and project constraints.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and training to clients as required.
  • Assist in resolving technical queries and providing after-sales support to strengthen customer relationships.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives for product and process optimization within the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an engineering or applications support role, ideally within a HVAC or building services environment. Related industry experience will be considered.
  • Strong technical understanding of engineering systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Effective communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and external clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD or engineering software is advantageous.
  • Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (desirable, not essential).
  • Ability to commute/relocate to Wednesbury is required.
