Job description

We are looking for an experienced Android Software Developer with a passion for language localisation and UI development? Expleo UK is seeking a talented developer to support our client with a SABRE App Language Translation Project - a cutting-edge situational awareness Android application used in tactical environments. This is your chance to work on a high-impact project that enhances multilingual capabilities for mission-critical communication tools.   • Design and implement multilingual support for the SABRE Android application
  • Modify existing UI components to dynamically load language packs from XML resource files
  • Create and validate new European language resource files for tablets and phones
  • Ensure seamless language switching via Android localisation settings
  • Collaborate with the Software Engineering Delivery Manager and development team
  • Participate in design reviews and acceptance testing (DDQS process)
  • Deliver tested software with bug fixes and documentation updates
  • Provide inputs for user guide updates and design documentation

Requirements

  • A BEng/BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent in computing or a computing-related subject, or an alternative qualification with relevant experience.

Essential skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in Android development (Java/Kotlin)
  • Strong understanding of Android UI design and resource file management
  • Experience with localisation and internationalisation in mobile apps
  • Familiarity with XML-based UI resource files and dynamic UI rendering
  • Ability to work collaboratively in agile teams and follow structured review processes

Desired skills:

  • Experience working on defence or tactical communication applications
  • Knowledge of SquadNet radio or similar communication platforms
  • Familiarity with DDQS or similar design and acceptance review processes
  • Exposure to multilingual UI testing and validation
