Job description

We are seeking an Azure Platform Engineer to support a major cloud migration programme. You will design, build, and optimise cloud infrastructure using Bicep or Terraform alongside Azure DevOps pipelines, while playing an essential role in migrating applications and services into Azure. This includes modernising hosting environments, ensuring secure and reliable deployments, and working closely with DevOps and application teams throughout the migration lifecycle., * Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Bicep or Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines

  • Develop automation scripts to support deployment, maintenance, and migration workflows
  • Collaborate with application teams to plan, execute, and support the migration of applications into Azure
  • Modernise application hosting environments and ensure compatibility with Azure services
  • Troubleshoot issues across cloud infrastructure, application deployments, and migration processes
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and governance standards
  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute recommendations for platform improvements
  • Document configurations, designs, migration steps, and operational processes
  • Provide technical support to internal teams throughout and after the migration

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services and architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Bicep or Terraform for IaC
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Practical experience migrating applications or workloads into Azure
  • Familiarity with network security devices (firewalls, load balancers, etc.)
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Able to work both independently and within cross-functional team
