Platform Designer

We are seeking an experienced Platform Designer to play a critical role in shaping the capabilities and features of an enterprise-grade Generative AI Platform for a large leading insurer. This role focuses on translating complex AI platform requirements into clear, approved solution designs that engineering teams can confidently deliver. The ideal candidate will combine strong platform and integration design skills with a deep understanding of cloud engineering and emerging GenAI operating models., * Define, document, and gain approval for new GenAI platform features, components, and capabilities.

• Translate business and technical goals into structured solution design artefacts (HLDs, LLDs, sequence flows, governance packs).
• Lead platform design discussions, ensuring alignment with cloud best practices and enterprise security standards.
• Partner with product owners, solution architects, SRE/DevOps teams, and data scientists to ensure design feasibility and clarity.
• Support engineering teams throughout delivery, resolving design queries and clarifying requirements rapidly.
• Maintain platform capability roadmaps linked to value, re-use, scalability and futureproofing.
• Ensure designs move efficiently through architecture review forums and governance processes.
• Drive integration patterns between applications, AI APIs, and platform services.
• Actively identify risks, dependencies, and simplification opportunities., * New GenAI platform capabilities designed, signed off, and delivered smoothly into production.
• Consistent design standards and reuse of platform components.
• Highly engaged stakeholders who see this role as the engine room of platform clarity and progress.
• Accelerated adoption of GenAI solutions across engineering teams.

Do you have experience in Microservices?, * Experience in solution design, integration architecture, or related technical roles.

• Strong experience designing cloud-native platforms on AWS.
• Proven success moving complex designs through structured governance with speed.
• Experience working in enterprise environments: security, observability, compliance, IAM.
• Knowledge of microservices, EDA, messaging integration and platform services.
• Ability to simplify complexity into clear, actionable artefacts for developers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience in highly regulated sectors (insurance or financial services).
• Exposure to SRE, DevOps or CI/CD enablement principles.
• Familiarity with LLMs, AI Service integration and platform operationalisation of GenAI features.
