Job description
We are partnering with a growing technology organisation to hire an Infrastructure Engineer who can play a key role in designing, delivering, and supporting robust IT infrastructure across both internal and customer environments. This role would suit someone who is hands-on, organised, and eager to broaden their technical skill set. Exposure to networking, automation, virtualisation, or cloud technologies is highly beneficial.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, building, and supporting physical and virtual infrastructure solutions
- Investigating and resolving infrastructure issues efficiently
- Managing system health through backups, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle upgrades
- Producing clear documentation for infrastructure, processes, and incidents
- Creating scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Background in system administration or support
- Experience delivering or leading IT infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of networking (Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell) and core protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Scripting/IaC skills (Ansible/AWX, Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Comfortable with both Windows and Linux administration
- Knowledge of backup technologies such as NetBackup or Veeam
Nice to Have
- Experience with Git-based source control (GitLab, Bitbucket)
- Familiarity working within Agile teams
