Job description

We have a vacancy for a Product Support Engineer - joining our team in Melsonby (Postcode: DL10). As products mature components can go obsolete or be difficult to source. This role will require identification and qualification of alternatives and adjustments to our design while also supporting production package. This role will also:

  • Reviewing electrical and electronic schematics and designs.
  • Ensuring any alternatives meet the overall performance criteria, allowing final product certification.
  • Building and using an internal verification testing process that considers - Optical, EMC, Environmental and Electrical safety testing.
  • Liaising with electrical contractors/vendors ensuring that all work complies with SWARCO policies.
  • Where an issue is seen in the factory or one of our depots travel may be required to

Requirements

Do you have experience in Schematics?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, BEng Electronics or HNC/D or equivalent experience in a product focused role. Working knowledge of electronic communications such as RS485, RS232, I3C, SPI, Ethernet, CAN bus and WiFi. Proficient working/understanding with electrical schematics, BOMS and PCB layouts and a working knowledge of electrical/electronic test equipment (ie. oscilloscopes, logic analysers, frequency counter) Literacy and Comprehension of Mechanical 2D / 3D Drawings.
