Job description
Looking for a chance to lead multiple complex engineering projects - right at the heart of real-world innovation in radar, comms, and autonomous defence systems? This one's for you.
The Role
I'm working with a specialist consultancy at the forefront of embedded systems, RF design, and high-integrity signal processing - and they're growing fast.
They're now hiring a Software Project Manager to take ownership of multiple software-led engineering projects, working closely with embedded, electronics, and systems teams.
If you've worked in R&D-heavy environments, and love managing fast-paced projects that push technical boundaries, this is your chance to do just that - all while contributing to next-gen radar systems with critical counter-UAV applications.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the delivery of software-driven engineering projects, many with embedded or electronics components
- Work across multiple concurrent projects - with a mix of client-facing and internal R&D programmes
- Collaborate with embedded developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders from sales to exec level
- Apply Agile and structured PM tools (Jira, WBS, Microsoft Project)
- Travel occasionally to UK and international customers
Requirements
- Experience managing technical software development projects - ideally in engineering or R&D-focused environments
- Comfortable leading in a consultancy or fast-paced multi-project setting
- UK national with ability to obtain full SC clearance (mandatory)
Benefits & conditions
- Up to £80,000 base salary
- Hybrid working - 3 days a week onsite near Cambridge
- Projects include radar, autonomous platforms, IoT, and comms
- Real technical influence - you'll work directly with project sponsors, engineers, and innovation leaders
- A company known for solving the industry's hardest engineering problems
If you're a software-savvy PM who thrives on variety, complexity, and working with high-calibre engineering teams - this is the kind of role that doesn't come around often.
