Senior Platform Engineer

ebb3 is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise VDI solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in either Citrix DaaS or Omnissa Horizon platforms, combined with strong foundational infrastructure knowledge. You'll work with high-profile clients, delivering virtual desktop solutions optimised for demanding workloads., Platform Design & Architecture:

• Design scalable and resilient VDI architectures based on Citrix DaaS or Omnissa Horizon
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define performance, security, and business requirements
• Plan hybrid cloud and on-premises deployment models

Implementation & Configuration:

• Lead installation and configuration of VDI platforms including hypervisors, connection brokers, and virtual desktop pools
• Configure application delivery controllers and supporting infrastructure components
• Integrate advanced features including GPU acceleration where required

Operations & Optimisation:

• Implement performance tuning techniques to optimise efficiency and user experience
• Develop and deploy monitoring solutions for proactive issue resolution
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and security compliance
• Utilise automation and scripting to streamline deployment and maintenance

Documentation & Collaboration:

• Create comprehensive technical documentation and best practice guides
• Engage with vendors and technical support teams to resolve complex issues
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the organisation

Essential Requirements

Core VDI Platform Expertise:

You must have deep expertise in at least one of the following (both ideal):

Citrix DaaS

• Design and deployment of Citrix DaaS (2507 LTSR or Current Release)
• Citrix Virtual Apps and Citrix Virtual Desktops architecture
• Citrix Cloud and on-premises deployment models

Omnissa Horizon

• Design and deployment of Omnissa Horizon 8 (2312 ESB or 2506+ Current Release)
• Horizon View, Instant Clone technology, and Connection Servers
• Omnissa Horizon Cloud and on-premises deployment models

Foundational Infrastructure Skills

Windows Infrastructure:

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP
• Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) - highly desirable

Virtualisation & Hypervisors:

• VMware vSphere & vCenter Server

• NVIDIA vGPU software, VDI networking and security principles, thin clients (Dell Wyse, IGEL OS)
• 2+ years delivering technical VDI solutions to customers

Highly Desirable Skills:

• NVIDIA vGPU - NVIDIA vGPU deployment and integration
• Profile & Application Management: FSLogix, Omnissa App Volumes, Omnissa DEM
• Unified Endpoint Management: Omnissa Workspace ONE
• Additional Hypervisors: XenServer, Nutanix AHV
• Gateway & Security: Omnissa UAG, NetScaler Gateway, NetScaler ADC
• Load Balancing: Progress Kemp LoadMaster

Desirable Certifications:

Relevant certifications in Citrix (CCA-V, CCP-V, CCE-V, CCA-N) or Omnissa/VMware (VCP-DTM, VCP-DW, VCAP, VCP-DCV) are highly desirable.

Nice to Have:

Linux VDI experience, cloud platforms (Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces), Veeam Backup & Replication, PowerShell/Python scripting., * Self-motivated and results-oriented
