Job description

IT Service & Operations are currently looking for a Senior Analyst Developer to join our research-outputs agile product team in a multifaceted role that involves a blend of support and development/release management. Services inside research-outputs include:

  • Research Publications
  • UCL Discovery
  • UCL Profiles.

Initially you will focus on becoming an expert in UCL's Research Outputs systems, being responsible for change requests, upgrades and maintaining AWS integrations as well as triaging and working on complex support tickets.

As you develop in the role you will become Service Operations Manager for research-outputs and lead on key initiatives such as shifting to the cloud (AWS, Azure), security initiatives, and CICD. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing and providing guidance to the product team members.

Requirements

As an application or web development professional, you have experience of one or more of the following key technologies:

  • Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP stack)
  • Oracle PL/SQL
  • Perl

You have experience deploying of continuous integration and continuous development pipelines and are knowledgeable in both private and public cloud including AWS and Azure. In addition to your development experience, you're comfortable working within an Agile environment (specifically utilising Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework methodologies) and collaborating with multi-functional product teams and their associates stakeholders.

Although not essential, it would be highly desirable if you have any experience line managing members of staff.
