Job description

This role will be focused on providing the necessary storage configuration and helping users and data scientists with their data pipelines on the ARC Unified AI platform based on Kubernetes., You will also be expected to work with ARC Data stewards and the infrastructure team to ensure that data is well managed. Furthermore, you will have experience or willing to quickly learn Kubernetes as an administrator to help with the general day to day administration, monitoring and development of our platform.

Requirements

A Senior Research Infrastructure Developer will be interested in building and supporting AI platforms in cloud native environments with the intention to become an expert. Therefore, you will have experience building, deploying and supporting equivalent infrastructure or applications in a research environment and/or industrial equivalent settings.

You will be a strong advocate for "building it right" - software defined, in version control etc. As part of this role there is an opportunity for growth - to obtain advancement by the Research Infrastructure Developer steering the focus to include training, line management, research or further specialisation in HPC/Cloud technologies.

Experience in different storage technologies (for example NFS client, S3, GPFS client), database administration (configuration, monitoring, backup and recovery) as well as data engineering for AI are essential. Configuration management at scale using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Kubernetes administration experience are highly desirable.
