Network Security Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer with strong WAF and cloud security experience to join our team on a 6-month contract.

You will take ownership of our web application security posture, drive improvements across our network security stack, and support key projects focused on cloud, firewall, and WAF optimisation., * Lead the configuration, tuning, and optimisation of Barracuda WAF platforms

• Support and enhance Azure networking components including VNets, NSGs, firewalls, load balancers, and routing
• Work with next-generation firewalls (any major vendor) to improve security controls
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents across WAF, firewalls, and cloud networking
• Implement and maintain secure network design patterns and best practices
• Collaborate with architecture, cloud, and application teams to ensure secure service delivery
• Produce documentation, runbooks, and provide knowledge transfer where required

• Strong hands-on experience with WAF technologies, ideally Barracuda WAF
• Solid understanding of Azure networking (VNets, Private Endpoints, NSGs, App Gateway, Load Balancers)
• Experience with Next-Gen Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco, etc.)
• Strong background in network security, traffic flows, segmentation, and application security
• Understanding of OWASP, threat mitigation, and secure configuration principles
• Experience in incident response, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
