Job description

You'll work as the first dedicated Engineer in this new venture. Expect deep technical challenges, real ownership, and the thrill of helping define how capital markets evolve on-chain within one of Europe's most respected blockchain companies.

  • Design and implement backend services in Rust, optimized for throughput, reliability, and low latency
  • Build systems that connect on-chain and off-chain components, from smart contract interactions to market data ingestion and execution logic
  • Collaborate closely with infrastructure and validator teams to leverage bare-metal performance and low-latency access to blockchain networks
  • Work with live trading data and performance monitoring tools to profile, test, and tune production systems
  • Contribute to architecture design sessions, helping define how we scale a multi-chain platform
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers across Staking Facilities to extend node infrastructure and on-chain APIs
  • Shape technical direction, influence tooling and processes, and grow with the project as it scales

Requirements

  • Proficient in Rust, with experience writing safe, performant, and maintainable code
  • You're excited about Web3, decentralized finance, and the emerging internet of capital markets.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership in an early-stage setup
  • Curious and self-motivated, you enjoy learning new systems, exploring blockchain tech, and tinkering with complex problems
  • Based in Europe or nearby time zones (CET overlap)
  • Fluent in English, with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiar with concepts like order books, limit orders, and exchange mechanics, or eager to learn
  • Existing experience with smart contracts, on-chain transactions would be ideal

Benefits & conditions

  • Building from almost 0 within a proven, established blockchain company
  • Work directly with senior engineers and Defi professionals on cutting-edge challenges
  • Excellent salary plus long term upside potential through planned equity or profit participation
  • A high-trust, remote-first culture with a base in Munich and a globally distributed team
  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Flexible working hours
  • Team events and conferences such as Solana Breakpoint, Berlin Blockchain Week, and Sui Base Camp
  • Generous learning and development budget and mentorship from experts across DeFi and infrastructure
  • A friendly, diverse, and values led team that prioritizes meaningful work and shared success

About the company

Staking Facilities has pioneered the staking space ever since its’ inception in 2017 - as one of the first validator companies in Europe.

As a web3 infrastructure and service provider our main business is operating highly secure, bare metal hardware for selective public blockchains and web3 protocols to run on.

  • We provide holders of Proof-of-Stake tokens with a smooth and seamless, non-custodial staking experience through education and customer support.
  • We fund and support early web3 startups through our own venture arm, Staking Facilities Ventures.

We are a diverse, fun-loving, international team of doers, tinkerers, and technology enthusiasts with an edge for the next evolution of the internet and a diverse set of backgrounds.

As an independent, bootstrapped company, we have the freedom to call our own shots and, first-and-foremost, put our team at the heart of our company and everything we do. While we are based in Munich, we are a remote-first company and our team spreads across the whole globe. As such, we regularly meet up at conferences or company retreats in order to closely knit the team together.

If you see yourself fit in our open position, we'd love to get to know you!
