Job description

We are in search of a talented Data Scientist / Machine Learning specialist to join our team as a Data Scientist with a focus on Large Language Models (LLM). The ideal candidate will possess a high level of proficiency in data science and demonstrate a strong emphasis on leveraging large language models. This person should have a deep technical understanding of machine learning, complemented by solid programming skills. We expect you to be autonomous and able to learn. Be ready to regularly learn new things (methodologies, technologies, domains) and adapt to a fast-moving environment. For this role high level autonomy is expected, with ability to propose ideas relevant to the business., * Work closely with business experts to understand the operational needs (actuarial, marketing, etc.) and translate business needs into solutions.

  • Apply latest GenAI techniques for business problems
  • Apply data science tools to solve business challenges (including machine learning / visualization / GenAI).
  • Work with other departments (IT and business) to ensure operational use of results and measure impacts on key business indicators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share expertise, and to implement advanced solutions.
  • Build relationships with business, provide them technical leadership and guidance.
  • Manage and transmit knowledge through appropriate documentation and events (talks, seminars, etc.).
  • Contribute to the innovation and advancement of machine learning capabilities within the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of strong professional experience
  • Work experience in an international environment is a plus

Technical and professional skills

  • Master's degree, equivalent dual diploma or PhD in finance, actuarial, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, physics or similar
  • Ability to model the reality of business into equations, and to understand the implications and limitations of a model
  • Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms
  • Understanding current landscape of modern Large Language Models; experience in using them (inference, APIs, fine-tuning)
  • Excellent knowledge of machine learning tools and libraries
  • Working experience in data processing, databases (relational and NoSQL) and data visualization
  • Good programming skills (Python, Java, etc.)
  • Good software engineering culture (e.g. source control systems experience, code reviews, etc.)
  • Work experience in clouds (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS, Azure)
  • Work experience in insurance is a strong plus

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills with experts and non-experts
  • Analytical skills and mindset to produce useful business insights from data
  • Discipline in writing technical and non-technical documentation
  • Ability to work efficiently in multi-disciplinary team
  • Sufficient skills to contribute to complex projects with many stakeholders
