Job description

You will play a key role in supporting the local development teams in the creation and deployment of software for innovative robotics projects in a highly emerging field. You will contribute directly to the development, configuration and maintenance of build automation workflows and help ensure the development workflows of the team are efficient, reliable, and aligned with best practices., Your main mission covers the entire DevOps stack, but is mostly focused on the surrounding support of the local software development teams. You will join diverse teams of software engineers, and help them to improve their software component development cycle. DevOps is mainly managed through our parent company in France; you will cooperate with them and try to build a strong local foundation for DevOps in Belgium. You report to the R&D Manager and the current local DevOps maintainers:

  • Collaborate with software development teams to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Design, implement, tweak and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, high-quality software delivery.
  • Configure, manage, and monitor on-premises build infrastructure and reference virtualization environments.
  • Identify repetitive tasks and issues related to building, deployment, monitoring, and system maintenance; and experiment with automating, resolving and simplifying these.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, workflows, and system architecture.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Hands-on experience maintaining Jenkins agents, configuring custom pipelines, and scripting with Groovy (Exposure to TeamCity for CI/CD processes is a plus).

  • Working knowledge of hypervisors and virtual machines (VMware ESXi), containerization experience with Docker.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and secure remote access (SSH) and proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Programming and scripting skills in Python 3, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and SVN.
  • Knowledge of software testing practices and developer tooling, package managers like Conan and Cmake, and C++/C# development workflows are a plus.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, firewall configuration, and hands-on familiarity with server rack management/cable patching are an asset.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • You have at least a bachelor's degree in software engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Pragmatic, creative tech tinker who likes to experiment/script solutions.

  • You are passionate and curious about automation and development workflows.

  • You engage with others (developers) to see what challenges they face and like to think in terms of solutions.

  • You value team effort, are a team player, and like to support the development processes of others but can also work independently.

  • You have a good knowledge of English, and can follow a technical conversation and express yourself (basics) in French. Good mastery over Dutch and/or French is a plus.

  • Employment is based on Mouscron. You are willing to occasionally travel to our production site in Ostend.
