The primary location for this position is Madrid, secondary location under consideration is Barcelona. This is a hybrid role.

The Associate Director, Data Strategy will drive the strategic use of data insights that accelerate discovery, development, and decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in biomedical data strategy, a strong understanding of the data landscape, and the ability to lead and influence cross-functional initiatives that shape the future of data-driven R&D. This role will be responsible for data strategy and execution across the full lifecycle, including data strategy and roadmap development, identification and assessment of opportunities, and data landscaping, sourcing, and data partner management. This position will focus on immunology, embedded with the Immunology R&D DSDH team, and the candidate should have a strong knowledge of the uses of biomedical data and data landscape across inflammatory and autoimmune diseases
- Define and evolve the immunology data strategy in alignment with R&D priorities, including data acquisition, integration, and governance.
- Partner with Immunology DSDH, as well as clinical, translational, and discovery teams, to identify data needs and opportunities across the immunology pipeline. Collaborate and optimize in partnership with stakeholders outside R&D. Lead sourcing, evaluation, onboarding of external data sources.
- Oversee the lifecycle of immunology data assets, ensuring quality, accessibility, and compliance. Optimize the roadmap for data assets, as required
- Collaborate with DSDH cross-functional teams to ensure data readiness, appropriateness, and accessibility for AI/ML applications and predictive modeling.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Research?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Masters or PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in data strategy, data science, bioinformatics, computational biology or biomedical informatics within a biopharmaceutical company environment, with a preference for experience in R&D
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional data initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of relevant immunology data types (e.g., bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, immunophenotyping, imaging, clinical trial, imaging, real-world evidence, electronic notebooks, etc.)
- Experience in data governance, FAIR principles, regulatory and compliance considerations in biomedical research
