Job description

Are you a bright, ambitious technologist looking for an opportunity to progress your career?

You could be joining a rapidly expanding scale-up software house that is developing a highly complex network cyber security platform; the platform monitors network protocols in real-time, parses the commands and data structures to extract key metadata which is then analysed by in-house algorithms and allows customers to detect hackers, malware, data leakage and other malicious activity.

As a DevSecOps Engineer you will play a crucial role in building and securing cloud-native platforms and development workflows, working at the intersection of Azure cloud engineering, security operations and CI/CD pipeline automation, ensuring that security is embedded into every stage of the software delivery lifecycle.

You'll take ownership of implementing and maintaining security controls across Azure environments, continuously monitoring systems for vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and threats and securing CI/CD pipelines - integrating automated security testing, enforcing best practices, and ensuring that development teams can ship code quickly without compromising safety.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with engineering, platform and security teams to design scalable, secure architectures and drive a culture of secure-by-default engineering. You'll help define security standards, perform regular testing and validation, and respond proactively to emerging risks and incidents.

This is a hands-on, high-impact position ideal for someone who loves blending automation, cloud engineering, and cutting-edge security practices to protect modern distributed systems.

Requirements

  • You must be a Computer Science graduate from a Russel Group university (min 2:1 classification)
  • You have experience with DevSecOps, security testing, monitoring and securing CI/CD pipelines
  • You have a strong knowledge of Azure and cloud security
  • You have experience of threat detection and scanning code for vulnerabilities
  • You're collaborative with excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • You have meticulous attention to detail
  • You have strong analysis and problem solving skills

Benefits & conditions

As a DevSecOps Engineer (Azure) you will earn a competitive package:

  • Salary to £80k
  • Continuous training and career development including paid for industry certifications

About the company

At Client Server, we are driven by technology but powered by people. We help businesses across the UK, Europe, and the USA build world-leading engineering and tech teams. Since 1999, we have partnered with some of the biggest names in technology, from Fintech and Gaming to Crypto and Proprietary Trading, to find people to propel them forward. Partnering with our Clients We work with clients ranging from cutting edge technology start-ups to established technology leaders, including software houses, investment banks, hedge funds and consultancies. We see ourselves as a dedicated part of a client's recruiting arm, with servicing tech roles at the core. Each client is assigned their own Account Manager, who is the first port of call for all hiring and candidate queries. It is their job to know and anticipate a client's needs and ensure only the highest calibre of candidates is presented for their roles. "Client Server have always found us exceptional candidates - both permanent and freelance - that meet the requirements we give them regarding skillset or rates. It's quality over quantity and they take a huge amount of the leg work out of recruitment by really filtering the pool of potential hires before they get to us." Working with Top Talent Partnerships define us. We're proud of the thousands of technologists whose careers we've helped build, often over several years and different jobs. We regularly work with candidates from all over the world, and have a detailed understanding of the technology market, salaries and range of opportunities available. "Client Server maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the entire process. Communication was clear, timely, and transparent. In particular, I am the most happiest with how recruiting team demonstrated a thorough understanding of both the job requirements and my qualifications." Our Commitment to DEI Client Server is dedicated to building diverse technology teams globally. We see first-hand the benefits of hiring a diverse team and encourage our clients to have regular conversations around diversity to ensure their attitudes reflect our own. We help clients with specific diversity needs by implementing female friendly recruitment processes such as blind hiring and by writing adverts that use female coded words, highlight female friendly benefits, and include DEI statements. We post these adverts on a range of professional channels including smaller DEI websites to build diverse pipelines. Methods we encourage our clients use to improve DEI: * Diverse interviewing panels * Female imagery on websites * Remote working * Enhanced maternity * Returnships * Hiring females into leadership In 2023, 18% of our placements were female. We are always striving to improve these figures year on year and will continue to do our part to shrink the diversity gap in tech.
