Group Data, AI, and Innovation (GDAI) is a department at AXA GO. The GDAI department focuses on data maturity and innovation within the group by:
- Defining ambitions regarding data maturity.
- Building and managing the community.
- Conducting research and providing expertise.
- Assisting entities with less mature data practices.
- Identifying and developing disruptive advanced technologies.
- Creating use-cases for specific technologies in collaboration with entities.
This department plays a crucial role in advancing AXA's technological landscape, driving innovation and optimizing data practices across the organization.
Purpose of the job The DevOps Engineer is responsible for driving the adoption of DevOps and automation mindset and practices across the organization, ensuring operational excellence and fostering continuous improvement leveraging modern practices and tooling (including GenAI). This role emphasizes hands-on implementation of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP), CI/CD, container orchestration and infrastructure automation, while promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing within engineering communities.
Main responsibilities/activities

DevOps leadership: Lead the implementation and governance of DevOps and SRE practices, ensuring alignment with best industry standards and fostering collaboration across internal stakeholders and engineering communities.

Operational maturity: Evaluate the operational maturity level of teams and define a future vision for DevOps, providing guidance to support the adoption of best practices and operational excellence.

Governance and strategy: Establish and maintain a DevOps governance framework and lead the definition and implementation of the DevOps strategy, focusing on orchestration, automation, and operational processes.

Collaboration and advocacy: Actively promote a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing, encouraging InnerSourcing of projects and supporting engineering teams in adopting DevOps practices.

Organization and/or participation in internal and external events.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools suchas Terraform.

Cloud security: Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.

CI/CD optimization: Develop and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable code delivery.

Monitoring and performance: Leverage SRE tools, such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, and Grafana, to monitor application and system performance, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

Exploration of GenAI solutions: We seek a candidate who will explore and implement state-of-the-art

Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps and SRE roles, managing complex distributed systems.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Technical skills:
- Proficiency in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
- Proven expertise in Kubernetes (Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA preferred) and OpenShift.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Scripting skills in Python or Bash.
- Strong understanding of automation, security, and operational excellence principles.
- Commitment to software engineering best practices including clean code, documentation, and
- maintainability.
Behavioral skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French and Spanish are a plus.
- Ability to coordinate activities with multiple stakeholders in a large international organization.
