Job description
As a Solution Architect, you'll lead the design and delivery of complex, integrated systems that fuse multi-source data into actionable insights. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to translate operational needs into technical solutions that are robust, secure, and future-ready.
- Define and maintain scalable, modular, and secure technical architectures.
- Lead integration of radar, AIS, EO/IR, sonar, and other sensor data into unified platforms.
- Ensure interoperability with maritime systems and compliance with international standards.
- Drive adoption of emerging technologies like AI/ML, edge computing, and autonomous systems.
- Collaborate with R&D to prototype and validate new capabilities.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and ensure traceability from business needs to implementation.
- Provide architectural guidance to delivery teams and enforce best practices in security and performance.
- Represent Fugro's technical vision in client engagements, proposals, and industry events.
- Collaborate with Geo-consultancy, SS&M, and regional business lines to co-create client-centric solutions.
- Support the recruitment and mentoring of technical talent in the marine security domain.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and technology acquisitions.
- Contribute to the development of a secure, scalable, and modular marine surveillance platform architecture.

Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems integration, or technical leadership.
- Proven background in maritime, defense, or critical infrastructure domains.
- Strong understanding of sensor technologies, data fusion, and real-time analytics.
- Experience with geospatial platforms, cloud architectures, and cybersecurity principles.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, edge computing, and secure communications is a plus.
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel up to20-30%of the time, as required by project needs.
Bonus Points
- Experience with maritime surveillance, naval systems, or coastal monitoring platforms.
- Knowledge of international maritime regulations and interoperability standards.
- Exposure to product operating models or continuous delivery practices.
- Interest in geosciences, remote sensing, or marine operations.
