Job description

At ATS, our Senior Industrial IT Engineers play a key role in delivering complex IT projects for customers within the Aerospace and Defence manufacturing industry. You will be responsible for deploying IT hardware and software in critical manufacturing production environments. This role covers multiple stages of the project lifecycle, from design and documentation to implementation and customer acceptance.

How You Will Make an Impact

Project Design and Documentation:

  • Create high-quality technical documentation that meets customer technical governance and assurance criteria.
  • Lead the design phase, ensuring all technical documentation aligns with project requirements.

Implementation:

  • Oversee the deployment of IT hardware and software in critical manufacturing environments.
  • Ensure the implementation phase is executed seamlessly, adhering to project timelines and quality standards.

Customer Acceptance and Transition:

  • Manage the transition of projects from implementation to service support.
  • Facilitate customer acceptance, ensuring all project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.

Technical Leadership:

  • Assume a leadership role within projects, guiding and collaborating with technical delivery teams.
  • Work effectively with customers' organisations and their various IT suppliers to ensure seamless integration and project success.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Strong background in IT project delivery within manufacturing environments.

  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defence industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in developing technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage complex IT projects.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and precision.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems, including demonstratable proficiency in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • The ability to obtain Security Clearance to work at a UK MOD accredited manufacturing facility.
  • A willingness to work on-site at customers' manufacturing facilities across the UK and occasionally overseas.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to Have

  • Working knowledge of Enterprise IT systems and associated service and project delivery frameworks (e.g., ITIL, PRINCEII, TOGAF).
  • Understanding of OT (Operational Technologies) such as PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and associated data transport protocols like OPC UA, OPC DA, MTConnect, Profinet, and Profibus.
  • Understanding of ISA-95 and its application to the "Purdue Model".
