Job description
We are currently looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to support one of our clients based on-site location.
This is a full-time, position working a 37.5-hour week Monday - Friday. The ideal candidate will be required to have a flexible approach as overtime and on-call duties may be required.
Due to the nature of our client's work the successful candidate will need to obtain SC Security Clearance (sole UK national).
Responsibilities:
- Software installation / deployment
- Desktop/Laptop/VDI build, configuration and deployment to end users
- Asset and peripheral deployments
- In depth investigation into issues to pass back to 3rd line support
- Assisting the 2nd Line support team with laptop, desktop and VDI terminals support calls
- Hardware installation / upgrade / break fix for desktop, laptop, and server
- Smartphone support (Android & iOS)
- VIP support
- Service Desk cover as required
- Assisting with customer projects
Requirements
- Microsoft Windows 7, 10 & 11 Operating Systems - Deployment, configuration
- Support Microsoft Office 2010 onwards
- Proven and demonstrable software and hardware troubleshooting skills, experience in a Deskside Support role
- Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and OS / Application deployment good verbal communication: ability to communicate to all levels
- Good written communication: concise and accurate call logging, documentation, and email correspondence
- Good time management / organisational skills
- Work well independently or as part of a team.
- Self-motivated
- Good problem solver
- Proactive approach
- Excellent customer skills a must for this position
Desirable skills / qualifications:
- Microsoft Windows 7/10/11 training and certification
- Legacy O/S
- Active Directory management
- Understanding of SCCM
- Exposure to Win11
- Exposure to Entra, Azure and Zscaler
- Exposure to VMWare, Citrix or Sphere
- Understanding of McAfee EPO
- Knowledge of ServiceNow
