Job description

As a Senior Solution Architect with deep expertise in Operational Technology (OT), the role centres on shaping and delivering robust solution architectures that bridge IT and OT domains. The architect ensures secure, scalable integration of OT systems within the enterprise landscape, supporting the digital transformation and agility objectives of the business. By championing best practices in OT-such as system interoperability, resilience, and alignment with industry standards-the architect drives the evolution of critical infrastructure and operational processes. This role demands a proactive approach to embedding OT considerations into architecture blueprints, collaborating across teams to optimise value streams and enhance business outcomes while maintaining compliance, security, and operational integrity., * Architecture Development & Governance: Contributes to target and business unit architecture through creating deliverables (e.g., vision, intent, runway), maintaining standards (e.g., TRM), and ensuring compliance with IT principles, roadmaps, and security guardrails.

  • Solution Design & Delivery: Designs and delivers high-level solution architectures aligned with business needs, oversees design integrity through the product lifecycle, and acts as technical design authority to ensure alignment and resolve design issues.
  • Stakeholder & Team Collaboration: Works closely with stakeholders to shape solutions that meet business and budget requirements, builds strong relationships, and supports product analysts in defining functional needs using standard features.
  • Strategic & Commercial Alignment: Applies commercial awareness to maximise IT/OT investments, engages with strategic partners and suppliers, and ensures architectural decisions align with business strategy and commercial benefit.
  • Leadership & Innovation: Provides direction, guidance, and coaching to team members; promotes innovation; manages technical debt; and helps protect the business from cyber risks by following and promoting security standards.

Requirements

Do you have experience in IT?, * Operational & Strategic Alignment: Deep understanding of operational environments, business objectives, and how technology investments support efficiency, resilience, and innovation.

  • OT/IT Integration & Architecture: Skilled in translating complex OT requirements into architectural solutions that align with organisational strategy, with expertise in IT/OT convergence and secure integration.
  • Technical Expertise in OT Systems: Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS), real-time systems, data acquisition, edge computing, and legacy system integration.
  • Security, Compliance & Risk Management: Familiar with safety standards, regulatory compliance, risk management, incident response, and disaster recovery in OT environments.
  • Specialised Product Knowledge: In-depth expertise in OT platforms, including ADMS (e.g. GE PowerOn), DERMS/ANM systems, and real-time historian/analytics services.
