Job description

RT Consulting is expanding our Defence capability and looking for an SC Cleared Multi-Cloud DevSecOps Engineer to support a major defence cloud transformation programme. This is a long-term, high-impact role supporting the transition from a VMWare VCF/Aria environment to a more scalable, secure, and distributed cloud model using GCP and Google Distributed Cloud (GDC).

This role will suit someone who thrives in secure environments, enjoys working in blended delivery teams, and wants to contribute to a programme with genuine operational significance.

What You'll Be Doing

You will help shape and deliver the next generation of Defence hosting capability. You will be responsible for enabling multi-cloud services, supporting migrations, and embedding secure DevSecOps practices across the platform lifecycle., * Supporting the transition from GCP-aligned services towards Google Distributed Cloud (GDC)

  • Designing, improving and supporting multi-cloud compute capabilities
  • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines across secure environments
  • Delivering Infrastructure as Code and automation at scale
  • Supporting containerised workloads across Kubernetes (K8s) environments
  • Troubleshooting issues across cloud, infrastructure and application layers
  • Ensuring secure-by-design practices are embedded throughout the stack
  • Participating in deployment to Estonia to support capability rollout as programme requires - This is expansible.

Requirements

The ideal consultant will be a confident DevSecOps / Cloud Engineer with experience working across multi-cloud environments. You'll bring strong engineering fundamentals, secure delivery practices, and a proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges.

Essential experience:

  • Current SC clearance
  • Multi-cloud experience (GCP essential; GDC desirable or willingness to learn)
  • Kubernetes (K8s), containers and cloud-native tooling
  • CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab or similar)
  • Strong automation / IaC experience (Terraform preferred)
  • Solid Linux administration and scripting capability
  • Experience working within secure or governed environments
  • Ability to commit to 3 days/week on-site
  • Availability for a four-week deployment to Estonia (all expenses covered), * GCP
