Job description
We are looking for a student assistant in the field of factory management to support research and industry projects at the IPK Berlin location as soon as possible. As part of a small and young team, you will actively participate in the technical and content design of software solutions for the integration and orchestration of digital product passports and cross-company data exchange. This also includes the design of digital twin architectures and data rooms based on open-source solutions. Furthermore, our research in the field of factory, production, and layout planning is developing concepts for the planning and operation of the factory of tomorrow.
The tasks in detail:
- Implementation and application of open-source technologies (Data Space Protocol, administration shell)
- Setting up and maintaining digital twin architectures and data connectors
- Development of server applications (Spring Boot)
- Collaboration on international and diverse projects with practical relevance to the topics of production management, factory planning, and digital product passports
- Taking on smaller sub-projects, planning and implementing them independently
- Designing presentations and providing support in department-wide projects
Requirements
- Studies in information technology in mechanical engineering (CES), (applied) computer science, or related engineering courses
- Very good knowledge of German and/or English
- Interest in modern concepts for data exchange and process modeling
- Practical experience in software development, preferably with Java (Spring Boot), Docker & Kubernetes
- Sense of responsibility, initiative, strong communication skills, structured and goal-oriented approach to work
- Motivation to think beyond the given task and promote your own ideas

The remuneration is based on the overall company agreement for the employment of auxiliary staff.
The position is initially limited to one year.
The monthly working hours are 40 hours.
