Job description
- Collaborate with cross-functional design teams in all phases of new electronic product introduction, including concept and architecture definition, design, prototype, test, supplier interface and manufacturing for all EMC related topics
- Provide direction in the areas of schematic and circuit board layout design, product packaging and assembly, cable interface design and shielding, grounding and simulation for radiated and conducted EMC
- Design, prototype and testing of EMC-Filters, including component selection and supplier coordination
- Recommending applicable EMC tests to satisfy needed requirements
- Perform test readiness reviews and support component and vehicle level EMC testing like IEC 61000-6-2, IEC 55011, IEC 61000-6-4 or similar
- Lead EMC troubleshooting efforts and directing EMI/EMC testing
- Generate EMC design review and test reports
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of electromagnetic and high-frequency theory applied to EMC design and testing
- Hands-on experience with instruments required for EMC testing (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, antennas, coupling clamps, probes)
- Hands-on experience in debugging EMC issues such as radiated and conducted emissions, EMI susceptibility and performing EMC testing
- Basic skills on printed circuit board soldering, rework and harness assembly
- Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and ability to prioritize effectively
- Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills, both written and oral
