Job description

To strengthen our team in München we are looking for a/an Working Student XR User Experience Models - Data Pipeline and Automation (f/m/x)

Our team at the BMW Group supports the convergence of design and engineering by providing high-end visualizations, virtual and hardware models. We enable fast decision-making and drive innovative vehicle concepts by ensuring designers and engineers collaborate on a shared foundation.

What awaits you?

  • You will support the 'Data Pipeline' project to help automate process steps for data preparation and integration.
  • Furthermore, you help analyze processes and contribute to the technical implementation of efficient workflows.
  • In addition, you will assist in developing and demonstrating Proof-of-Concepts through prototype implementations.
  • Moreover, you support the introduction and use of USD (Universal Scene Description) for managing complex 3D scenes.
  • You will help to develop scripts and tools, for example in Python, to automate conversions, data checks, and pipeline steps.

What should you bring along?

  • Studies in computer science, media informatics, visual computing, computational design, digital design, mechanical or automotive engineering with digitalization focus, data science or similar.
  • Programming and scripting skills, preferably in Python; additional languages such as C++ or Bash are a plus.
  • Interest in 3D data structures, formats, and automation.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D visualization methods; terms like Shader, FBX, USD are familiar.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Unreal Engine, VRED, Blender, or NVIDIA Omniverse is an advantage.
  • Analytical thinking, structured mindset, and motivation to evaluate new technologies.
  • Good English skills; German is a plus.
