Backend Engineer - AI Integrations

NLP technologies to improve learning experiences. * Build AI-Powered Backend Services: Design scalable backends integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini etc.) to power adaptive learning. * Service Architecture & Development: Manage the full backend lifecycle - API design, architecture, deployment, monitoring, and optimization for external AI service dependencies. * AI Service Integration: Connect and optimize multiple AI services with rate limiting, caching, and cost-efficient abstractions. * Collaborate with Educational Experts & Developers: Translate educational needs into robust backend solutions. * Develop and Document APIs: Build and maintain well-documented APIs for internal and external developer use. * Collaborate with the Data Team: Work with Data Engineers and Analysts to align backend systems with analytics and internal tools. * Data-Driven Product Improvements: Use educational and performance data to inform and enhance product features. * 3+ years backend

development experience (.NET and Node.js) * Strong experience with RESTful APIs, service architectures, and event-driven systems * Proven experience integrating AI/LLM service APIs and prompt engineering * Experience with Cloud providers, Azure or AWS * Strong understanding of distributed systems * Experience with rate limiting, retry strategies, and third-party service dependencies * Experience with working with Unity game teams is a plus * Excellent problem-solving, system design, and communication skills * Ability to evaluate and integrate emerging AI tools and services * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills. * Strong communication abilities. Be able to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences. * Be able to self-learn and coach team members.
