Job description
As an AI/ML Engineer at Huisman, you develop intelligent solutions for autonomous or semi-autonomous operations. Working closely with teams like R&D, Sales, and Control Systems, you ensure successful innovation from design to deployment. Your work helps integrate AI into our systems, enabling smarter, safer, and more efficient offshore operations., * Developing AI models for object detection, predictive maintenance, autonomous operations, and operational assistance;
- Analysing sensor data (e.g., LIDAR, cameras, IMUs) for decision-making and operational support;
- Collaborating with control software teams to integrate machine learning algorithms with real-time control systems;
- Advising on AI and machine learning strategies and best practices across projects and in our processes.

- Familiar with ROS and integrating machine learning algorithms into real-time control systems.
You have:
- A master's degree in artificial intelligence, data science and analytics, software engineering, robotics and embedded systems, or a related field;
- Over 10 years of hands-on experience with AI/ML in industrial environments. This includes developing and implementing real-world applications;
- Strong programming skills in Python, with proven experience using frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch;
- Practical experience with OpenCV, MATLAB/Simulink, and processing data from various sensors (e.g., LIDAR, cameras, and IMUs).
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language (and preferably Dutch), both spoken and written.
