Job description
In this role, you will design, build, and operate modern Linux-based, containerised platforms that underpin advanced cyber-defence capability. You'll engineer Kubernetes-driven solutions, enhance automation across development and deployment workflows, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver resilient, scalable systems. You'll take ownership of platform performance, apply creative problem-solving to drive continuous improvement, and be supported by a highly skilled community as you develop new approaches to cloud-native engineering.
You'll also contribute to the integration, configuration, and testing of systems, translating detailed business and technical requirements into robust software and platform functionality. As systems evolve, you'll help shape their lifecycle management, ensuring operational excellence across complex, mission-critical environments., Engineer & Orchestrate: Build, enhance, and operate Linux-based Kubernetes platforms.
Automate & Optimise: Develop scripts, pipelines, and tooling that streamline delivery and operations.
Operate & Troubleshoot: Maintain system health, diagnose issues, and support continuous availability.
Integrate & Configure: Convert specifications into functional capabilities through development and configuration.

Requirements
To succeed, you'll bring strong experience in Linux systems engineering, container orchestration, automation, and cloud-native delivery, paired with a practical understanding of modern DevOps toolchains and iterative delivery approaches.
You should have:
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Linux-based platform engineering.
Strong scripting and automation capability (Python preferred).
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP or secure on-prem cloud equivalents.
Solid understanding of networking concepts (routing, DNS, firewalls, service mesh).
Experience with Elastic for monitoring, logging and observability.
Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD and wider DevOps toolchains.
Ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues with a continuous improvement mindset.
