Senior Camera Systems Engineer - Prototyping - MATLab/ Python

We're hiring for a global tech client building next-gen AR/VR and smart-glasses camera systems. This role sits in their camera architecture team and focuses on prototyping imaging and camera simulation pipelines

• Strong background in camera development, image design and image quality.
• 8+ years in MATLAB and/or Python for modelling, simulation, or imaging work.
• Solid understanding of imaging physics (optics, PSF, noise, sampling etc.).

Nice to have

• Lens/ray-tracing exposure (Code V, Zemax).
• Experience in smartphone or consumer imaging.

• Annual Salary up to £125,000 doe and location
• 12 months contract - Inside IR35, PAYE - paid weekly
• Fully remote in the UK - Must already hold the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship, cannot work from abroad)

What you'll do

• Build and refine camera simulation prototypes in MATLAB/Python.
• Model optics, sensors and imaging behaviour to guide architecture decisions.
• Work with optics, sensor and software teams across the UK/US/Poland.
