Design Engineer

A growing design and manufacturing organisation is seeking skilled Design Engineers to join its expanding team. The company specialises in delivering bespoke, precision-engineered signage solutions for high-profile brands across the UK and Europe. This role offers job training, personal development, and excellent opportunities for long-term growth and progression., The Design Engineer will be responsible for producing detailed manufacturing drawings and CNC transmissions for laser and router machines using SolidWorks and Signlab. The role supports both onsite factory operations and the sales team by providing accurate technical drawings and 3D visual representations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Drafting:

Create precise manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and/or Signlab, including sheet metal layouts, material specifications, colours, dimensions, and Bills of Materials (BOM). Provide 3D visualisations to support factory and client needs.

• CNC Transmission & Drawings:

Prepare DXF transmissions and flat-pack drawings for CNC machine cutting.

• Problem-Solving:

Respond promptly to technical queries from Operations and shop-floor teams.

• Job System Maintenance:

Update and maintain the in-house job management system to ensure all transmissions and design data are logged accurately.

• Project Management Support:

Work closely with Project Managers to support seamless project progression from concept to completion.

Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, * Experience within signage manufacturing, metal fabrication, sheet metal, acrylics, Perspex, or laminates is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Inventor, or Signlab is highly beneficial. Training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork skills, and a proactive approach to solving design challenges.
• Willingness to learn, develop new skills, and contribute to process improvements.
