Job description

Are you ready to kickstart your IT career? A growing technology team in Preston is looking for a 1st Line Support professional to join their dynamic environment. You'll work with modern Microsoft cloud platforms and support a variety of SME clients, developing your skills across the Modern Workplace stack while delivering exceptional service.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide technical support to users, including troubleshooting Windows 11, macOS, mobile devices, and hardware.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Deploy and configure devices using Autopilot and Intune.
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration: Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and permissions.
  • Configure Intune, Conditional Access, compliance policies, and MAM/MDM.
  • Assist with Azure basics, including AVD, identity management, and security.
  • Monitor and respond to Microsoft Defender alerts and support Cyber Essentials activities.
  • Troubleshoot networking issues, including switches, Wi-Fi, and firewall basics.
  • Keep tickets, assets, and documentation up to date, contributing to internal knowledge.
  • Participate in customer visits and project delivery tasks, including device refreshes and cloud projects.

Requirements

  • Some experience or interest in IT support.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and basic Windows 11 knowledge.
  • Willingness to learn Intune, Azure, AVD, Conditional Access, and Defender for Endpoint.
  • Basic networking understanding.
  • Clear communication and a logical, patient approach to problem-solving.
  • Curiosity and willingness to practice PowerShell and support colleagues with Teams/SharePoint queries.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience with emerging technologies or IT certifications.
  • Industry-specific knowledge or previous exposure to Microsoft cloud projects., * Up to 1 year of IT support experience.
  • IT qualifications via school, university, or on-the-job experience (6-18 months).
