Job description
- Providing support to the IAS Configuration Manager and CM function at Belfast.
- This is a role in which there is no margin for error and attention to detail is paramount. Strong personal and communication skills are necessary, as this position will require interaction with Project staff.
Principal Relationships:
- Configuration Manager
- Project Managers
- System Engineering Managers, * The primary responsibility of the Configuration Controller will be to provide day-to-day support to multiple projects in:
- Registration and releasing of configuration information
- Integrity and maintenance of configuration records, history and traceability.
- Archiving of obsolete technical data

In the above roles, you will be required to follow Configuration Management processes, procedures and standards in executing the roles using Microsoft Office tools and Configuration Management tools.

Tasks will include:
- Administering CM processes on project
- Following CM and change management procedures and checking that engineering staff have complied with these procedures
- Producing Configuration Status Reports
- Providing administrative support at CCBs (Includes meeting organisation, distribution of preparatory information and production of minutes)
- Administration of the IAS Data Repositories
- Conduct audit activities relating to engineering change
- Managing record updates
- Media archiving
- License Management
Requirements
- Use of PC based tools including Microsoft Office
- Ability to produce work output on time and to schedule
- Understand the need to provide document structure and baseline reports
- Attention to detail and logical methodology of working
- Must be a team worker with good interpersonal skills
Essential
- Experience of data input and data management
- Experience of working in a small team and managing stakeholders
- Experience in an engineering environment
Desirable
- Experience in the use of Configuration Management tools and principles (PLM)
- Awareness of Defence Standards 05-57 or similar acknowledged standards in CM
- Experience using Software CM tools (e.g. JIRA)
- An appreciation of the full development project life cycle

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
