Job description

We're hiring a hands-on Platform Engineer to join a fast-moving investment firm, supporting and enhancing their cloud-based data and infrastructure platforms. Reporting to the Head of Technology, you'll work across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft 365.

This role blends data engineering, cloud operations, and infrastructure management, working closely with internal teams across the business., Data Platform Engineering

  • Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric Dataflows, Pipelines, and Lakehouses.
  • Develop and optimise semantic models for Power BI and analytics tools.
  • Monitor and enhance data pipelines, ensuring performance and data quality.
  • Maintain strong documentation across metadata, lineage, and version control.

Azure & Microsoft 365 Infrastructure

  • Manage and optimise Azure AD, Networking, Compute, Security, and Storage.
  • Oversee integrations across Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and M365 security/compliance tools.
  • Implement automation, cost optimisation, and proactive monitoring.

Business Collaboration & Reporting

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and datasets using Fabric models.
  • Support users with data interpretation and troubleshooting.

Operational Support

  • Monitor daily services across Fabric, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
  • Troubleshoot Azure AD, networking, permissions, storage, and service availability.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve system performance.
  • Contribute to the ongoing Azure/Fabric/M365 roadmap.
  • Stay updated on Microsoft cloud technologies and propose enhancements.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years' experience in data engineering and cloud operations, ideally in financial services.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouses, Dataflows, Pipelines, semantic models).
  • Solid background in Azure infrastructure (AD, Networking, Compute, Security).
  • Experience with Azure Storage and Data Lake environments.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365 administration (SharePoint, Exchange, Teams).
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and data integration.
  • Knowledge of data governance, cloud security, and compliance.

Desirable:

  • PowerShell or Python for automation.
  • Experience with Power BI and Azure DevOps (CI/CD, IaC).
