The Team:
-
At BLP, we create cutting-edge products for automated document processing. We are now building a dedicated team to automate internal processes as well, providing a unique opportunity to design tools from scratch using state-of-the-art technologies and modern engineering practices. Engineers on this team will take end-to-end ownership of internal automation tools and workflows, building solutions that amplify impact across the company. As BLP grows rapidly, the improvements this team introduces compound, enabling more efficient operations and giving the company the ability to scale without unnecessary overhead. This is a chance to tackle high-leverage problems in a fast-moving startup environment, where the right solution can have wide-reaching effects. Our team thrives on spotting inefficiencies and turning them into impactful solutions that are built once, the right way. We value engineering excellence in every decision, prioritizing simple, maintainable architectures, clean code, and sustainable design that 'just works' with minimal ongoing maintenance. We take pride in craftsmanship, focusing on solving problems properly rather than quickly, so our tools continue to deliver value over the long term.
-
What You'll Do:
-
- Be the DevOps evangelist at blp: lead the way in building a world-class developer experience and spreading DevOps best practices across all teams.
-
- Enable other teams: collaborate closely with product teams to tackle their toughest DevOps challenges, implement sustainable solutions, and equip them with the skills to maintain and evolve those solutions independently.
-
- Build and maintain internal developer productivity tools, workflows, and automation that help teams ship faster and more reliably.
-
- Own infrastructure evolution: help teams deploy tools and services to the cloud in a robust, scalable, and maintainable way, using modern IaC tools like Terraform and the most suitable cloud products.
-
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines: make builds faster, deployments safer, and delivery smoother through automation, caching, and pipeline simplification.
-
- Raise the bar on reliability: enhance system monitoring, alerting, and observability to catch issues before they impact users.
-
- Harden security: ensure Kubernetes clusters, cloud resources, and dependencies stay secure and compliant with standards like ISO 27001.
-
Why You'll Love Working Here:
-
- Opportunity to build tools used across the company that solve real problems.
-
- See the direct results of your work in how teams across the company operate more effectively.
-
- Small, highly skilled team where every engineer's voice matters.
-
- Direct influence on the team's tools, practices, and culture.
-
- Freedom to choose technologies and approaches that work best.
-
- Deep technical challenges with real impact - not "busywork," but improvements that compound over time.
-
- Collaborative, engineering-first culture that values craftsmanship, learning, and ownership.
