Summarised, your tasks will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Automating building, testing, provisioning, and deploying of our services
- Managing our infrastructure as code (that can be reviewed and version-controlled)
- Hardening and securing our internal and external systems
- Improving and maintaining our monitoring and alerting systems
- Developing new tools that help us make the process of building software even more efficient and enjoyable
Requirements
You are expected to find the right tool for the different processes, or to write a custom one if it doesn't exist yet. You have experience working on distributed and cloud systems and know how to manage large amounts of data. We are looking for someone proactive, autonomous, and keen to be a part of our DevOps team!, Ideally, you have experience in software development and in keeping a complex distributed application running and secure at all times. You should be interested in declarative infrastructure, reproducible builds, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), dynamic resource scaling, security best practices, and general robustness of a distributed system. In more concrete terms, we expect you to have the following:
- Experience in managing infrastructure with either GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Experience with CI systems such as Semaphore, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Travis
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tooling, such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Good understanding of networking concepts and protocols (SSH, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of Linux and system administration tools, such as e.g. apt, systemd and bash
- Security-awareness and familiarity with concepts like defense-in-depth and the principle of least privilege
- Familiarity with Python
- Commitment to high-quality engineering
And then some things are 'nice to have':
- Familiarity with build tools such as Nix
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of Hashicorp tools, i.e. Consul, Nomad, Vault, and Terraform
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems
Some practical things we expect from you:

You are available for at least 32 hours per week.

You live in the Netherlands (or are willing to relocate) and own a work permit (if you're a non-EU citizen).

- Gross monthly salary ranging from € 4.500 to € 6.500 based on a 40-hour work week. The salary is determined based on your experience.
