Job description

Are you an experienced Automation Test Engineer who thrives on ensuring quality across functional, performance, resilience, and security testing? In this role, you will be the testing specialist within your squad, making sure the payment engine landscape runs at the highest level of quality.

Next to your squad, you will also join a test chapter, working with peers from other squads to continuously improve test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and tools. You won't just execute tests-you'll play a key role in shaping how test automation evolves across the organization. What you will do

Develop and maintain test automation (Java, Cucumber, Gatling).
Set up and operate CI/CD pipelines.
Automate and execute functional tests using Cucumber and Karate.
Apply capacity and performance management to keep applications running at top performance.
Implement countermeasures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Collaborate with your squad, chain squads, and product owner to deliver integrated solutions.
Share knowledge, coach colleagues, and drive continuous improvement within the chapter.

Requirements

At least 7 years of testing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Cucumber (Java implementation).
Strong knowledge of back-end systems, APIs, and Message Queues (ActiveMQ, JMS, EMS, Kafka).
Proven experience creating test automation frameworks from scratch for complex systems.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD in Agile/DevOps environments.
Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
A proactive, collaborative mindset focused on quality and improvement.

Nice to have

Background in the banking industry, with knowledge of ISO20022, Swift, or SEPA.
Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, TFS, Azure DevOps, Gatling, Kibana, Prometheus.
Hands-on experience with Cassandra, Java (Akka, Spring), JMS, Kafka, Tibco Business Works, Unix.
