Cloud Architect (AWS/Azure)

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to design and oversee enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS and/or Azure, combining technical excellence with strategic thinking to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures. You will define cloud strategy, establish architectural standards, and guide engineering teams in implementing best practices., * Design comprehensive cloud architecture solutions aligned with business requirements, security standards, and budget constraints.

• Define cloud strategy and roadmap, evaluating build vs. buy decisions and technology selection.
• Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for cloud infrastructure and application deployment.
• Lead cloud migration initiatives, assessing current state and designing target architectures for applications and data.
• Design multi-region, highly available architectures ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Implement security frameworks including identity management, network security, encryption, and compliance controls.
• Optimise cloud costs through right-sizing, reserved instances, and architectural efficiency improvements.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud services, third-party tools, and managed services to accelerate delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, providing architectural guidance and technical leadership on cloud projects.
• Conduct architecture reviews, ensuring solutions meet non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability).
• Create comprehensive architecture documentation including diagrams, decision records, and runbooks.
• Mentor engineers on cloud technologies, promoting knowledge sharing and technical capability development.

Do you have experience in SQL?, * 8+ years in infrastructure and cloud roles with 5+ years specifically in cloud architecture.

• Deep expertise in AWS or Azure with proven track record designing enterprise-scale solutions.
• Professional cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Professional/Azure Solutions Architect Expert required.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, serverless, and containerisation (Kubernetes).
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) and CI/CD practices.
• Deep knowledge of networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, DNS, and hybrid connectivity.
• Strong security expertise including IAM, encryption, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability solutions in cloud environments.
• Proven ability to optimise cloud costs while maintaining performance and reliability standards.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex technical concepts to executive audiences.
• Experience leading architectural governance and promoting best practices across engineering organisations.
• Track record of successful cloud migrations and greenfield cloud implementations.
