Job description
As a Network Security Engineer, you will work with your team in a very innovative and professional environment to secure the networks of Ericssons customers. Among others projects involve replacing, upgrading, expanding firewall and network components of the largest telecom operators in The Netherlands. You will translate technical designs into detailed implementation plans, test, and then execute them in the live network in a controlled manner.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing Low-Level Designs and translating them into implementation plans.
- Configuring, testing, and executing network and firewall upgrades.
- Working with technologies such as Fortinet, Check Point, F5, and DNS/IPAM.
- Preparing changes during the day; implementations are usually carried out during maintenance windows (occasionally at night or on weekends once every 5-8 weeks).
- Documenting all activities and handing over to the customer or operations team.
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent experience in IT, Network Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Network or Security Engineer.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.
- Experience with Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco, or F5 is preferred.
- Accurate, customer-focused, and used to working within structured processes.
- A valid driver's license (B).
