Job description
The role of an information manager is to oversee project level common data environments and electronic data management systems. Typical duties include organising, storing and analysing organisational datasets in a professional and efficient manner, while also ensuring that security and privacy requirements are met by stakeholders.
AECOM is currently looking for an analytical professional who thrives on opportunities to decipher common data environments. As an information manager, you will be responsible for the development and use of project level common data environments and the subsequent upkeep of all information to and from the project teams in a timely and secure manner.
The chosen candidate will have a strong aptitude for technology, a professional approach to the working environment and possess excellent diagnostic skills. To excel in this role, you should also have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Here's what you'll do:
- Develop and implement procedures for effective information management.
- Create rules and procedures for information sharing.
- Must be able to establish and managing a functional common data environment (CDE) for clients, including defining support requirements. Proficiency in implementing advanced features such as built-in reporting, workflows, and dashboard setups through APIs and automations will be key to the role. Advanced ACC expertise is essential, and a basic understanding of SharePoint and PowerApps is beneficial.
- Oversee, manage and train project team members in the daily use of common data environments.
- Ensure adherence to both regulatory and organisational information requirements by project team members.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of data within the common data environments.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate common data environments / electronic data management systems that could affect reporting for the project.
- Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware and data storage improvements.
- Manage all incoming datasets on client's behalf and monitor incoming project deliverables against MIDPs.
- Continually develop information management strategies for projects.
- Assist with recognising and maintaining the integrity of digital security systems to safeguard sensitive information on projects.

Requirements
- Ability to decipher and manage large volumes of data.
- Security minded approach to information management & GDPR knowledge.
- An analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex problems clearly and in non-technical terms.
- Ability to present on specific topics to internal and external audiences and client teams to effectively communicate complex concepts. This will include preparing and delivering engaging presentations, tailoring content to diverse audiences, and confidently addressing questions and feedback.
- Ability to work collaboratively within demanding, multidisciplinary project teams composed of members from various organisations and diverse backgrounds., * You will hold a suitable Information Profession qualification in information science, computer engineering, or related field to bachelor's degree level or equivalent and/or will have experience at Practitioner Level (EO/HEO) of the Government Knowledge & Information Management (GKIM) Professional Skills Framework.
- With a minimum of 3+ years' experience in information management.
- Must be able to obtain necessary security clearances required by the role.
