Non-IT Project Manager - Financial Controls

Job description: Own and manage the detailed financial close calendar across Finance, IT and Operations Lead close readiness reviews and ensure dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans are identified Act as operational lead during the close cycle, monitoring progress and resolving or escalating issues Run daily coordination calls during key close phases and ensure full transparency across teams Ensure close governance standards and process controls are consistently followed Conduct post-close reviews and drive continuous improvements to shorten cycle time and reduce manual work Collaborate with Finance, IT, transformation and automation teams on process enhancements Maintain strong communication with senior stakeholders and provide clear status updates About the customer: For a leading global reinsurance and financial services institution, we are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate the end-to-end financial close cycle within a complex, multi-entity

environment. This senior operational role sits within Finance Close Management & Operations and focuses on planning, orchestrating, and continuously improving the financial closing process while supporting a major transformation program migrating legacy systems to a modern cloud infrastructure. Requirements: Proven experience managing complex end-to-end operational processes, ideally in financial closing Background in banking, insurance, reinsurance, or other large financial institutions Strong organisational discipline, proactivity and ability to remain calm under pressure Excellent senior stakeholder management and influencing skills Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request) Familiarity with financial close processes, SAP systems, consolidation platforms and financial controls Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in time-critical environments Higher education in a relevant field; ITIL, Lean Six Sigma or PMP certifications are a plus Fluent English Interested?
