Job description
real-time analytics, design robust APIs and data processing pipelines. * Design and evolve multi-region, cloud-native services on Kubernetes with service mesh for reliability, security, and traffic management * Apply best practices in REST and event-driven API design, integrate high-throughput messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ) for real-time transport * Ensure end-to-end security and data protection in backend services, meeting compliance requirements in regulated environments * Optimize for low latency and high availability: caching, backpressure, idempotency, resiliency patterns, and performance tuning * Define reliability and performance objectives, partner with SRE/DevOps on observability, incident response, and capacity planning * Establish API versioning, schema evolution, and data contract practices to ensure backward/forward compatibility across teams * Collaborate closely with Mobile/Web, Data/ML, and Platform to align backend capabilities to product goals and AI/analytics use cases
Requirements
- Participate on architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and foster technical excellence and a culture of measurable outcomes REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * 8+ years of backend engineering with a strong focus on distributed systems and microservices, deep expertise in Java/Spring Boot and/or Kotlin, with relational and NoSQL databases * Proven experience with cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies in production * Strong knowledge of API design (REST, event-driven) and real-time messaging/streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ) * History of delivering high-availability, low-latency systems in production environments. * Demonstrated security and privacy-by-design mindset, experience meeting compliance standards in regulated contexts * Effective technical leadership: leading discussions, mentoring, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, familiarity with schema evolution and consumer-driven contracts like a schema registry-based contract * Expertise tuning data stores (e.g. Postgres, Cassandra) and caches for high-throughput workloads * Multi-region design patterns, traffic shaping, and failover on Kubernetes/service meshes * Observability at scale (OpenTelemetry, tracing-driven debugging), API gateways, and rate limiting * Experience supporting AI/ML-serving interfaces and streaming feature inference paths LINGO CULTURE Customer-first, quality-driven, growth-minded, and united.
