Job description

Design the architectural blueprint for Rabobank's poly-cloud platforms, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements. As Business Architect - Cloud Services, you collaborate with the Area Lead and Tech Lead, translating strategic goals into robust cloud solutions. You'll work with a team of business architects and guide solution architects, balancing innovation, compliance, and operational excellence.

  • Define and evolve the architecture of the services offered on the AWS, Azure and Google Cloud platforms for Rabobank.
  • Align poly-cloud architecture with enterprise standards, business strategy and cloud-native best practices.

  • You are part of the Engineering business architecture team, consisting of 10 business architects working in this domain. The team is led by the managing business architect for Engineering, who is also acting as tribe architect for Tech4Engineering. You will report to him.

Team Leadership

  • Co-lead the Cloud Services sub-area together with the Area Lead and Tech Lead.
  • Collaborate with the Area Lead and Tech Lead to manage the Cloud Services area, balancing business priorities, technical feasibility, and operational excellence.
  • Functionally lead the 5 Solution Architects for Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. Each architect is linked to one or more squads in the area to guide and oversee the work in these squads in line with the target architecture and area purpose.
  • Foster an open culture of continuous improvement and DevOps maturity.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with security, on-premises, networking, services and application counterparts to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
  • Communicate architectural vision and roadmap to stakeholders and leadership.

Innovation & Strategy

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in cloud services, cloud-native technologies, and platform engineering.

  • How do you keep your knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, and possibly GCP) up to date, and how do you apply this knowledge to help an organization move forward?

Requirements

Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

  • At least 10 years of work experience, including 4 years in (business/enterprise) architecture
  • Strong understanding of AWS and Azure; knowledge of Google Cloud is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and fully proficient in English; Dutch also preferred
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders across various teams.
  • A strong conceptual thinker, capable of translating high-level strategies into practical solutions.

Collaboration: Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional teamwork.

  • Familiarity with cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks.

  • Salary: Gross monthly salary between EUR 6,475 and EUR 9,250 (scale 11).
