Job description
Lead the design and engineering phases of civil and structural projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop, review, and approve engineering designs, technical drawings, and specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, project managers, and contractors to deliver integrated design solutions.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and design staff.
Conduct site visits and technical inspections to verify design implementation and resolve engineering challenges.
Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, and value engineering to optimise design outcomes.
Manage project time lines, ensuring design deliverable are completed on schedule and within budget.
Keep abreast of evolving technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
Proven experience in structural design engineering within the civil or construction engineering industry.
Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of relevant UK and international codes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions and build effective working relationships across teams.
