Job description
We are seeking an Hardware Analog/Mixed-Signal Electronic Engineer to reinforce our Lausanne Hardware team. As a key team member, you will join a multidisciplinary R&D team of hard-working and passionate individuals developing groundbreaking satellite communications system technologies. You will design highly reliable analog and mixed-signal electronics that meet the required functional specifications, considering electrical, size and weight constraints, as well as aspects related to space environment. In collaboration with your project team members, you fully own the whole development cycle of electronic boards:

Design, develop, test, optimize and integrate highly reliable analog and mixed-signal electronics for satellites

Drive requirements, architecture and circuit design, component selection and procurement, PCB design, board bring up, testing and design + manufacturing documentation

Partner with optical, mechanical and software internal and external experts

MSc or PhD or equivalent, in electronic engineering or a related field

Strong background in aerospace, expertise in one or more specific spacecraft subsystems, knowledge of radiation effects on semiconductors, knowledge of ESA standards

7+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing mixed-signal electronics from concept through production, in particular involving:
o Analog/digital PLLs
- Analog/digital control systems
- Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters

Operational amplifiers (differential amplifiers, active filters, buffers etc.)

Schematic capture and PCB design tools (preferably Altium)

Experience using various test equipment - oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer and similar

Strong documentation skills and ability to report on technical solutions and findings

Availability to travel to the US and across Europe to follow up with the other team members, contractors, and to attend conferences
What will help you on the job
- Familiarity with photodetectors and transimpedance amplifiers

Experience with microcontrollers and/or FPGA

Familiarity with RF components

Familiarity with lasers and fiber components

Knowledge of satellite communication and services.
