Job description
MrQ is looking for a Senior Platform Product Manager with a well developed engineering mindset to join the Enablement Tribe, looking after our Platform Engineering and PQ squads. You'll work side by side with other skilled Product Managers and play a crucial role in defining and driving strategy, product development, and performance.
This Role Will Be Accountable For
- Core Platform Services & Integration: Own and improve the platform foundations for all tribes, covering site navigation, API gateways, app wrappers, and performance/security tooling (e.g. Cloudflare).
- Developer Experience & Shared Infrastructure: Define and maintain standard tools and templates to streamline delivery and reduce duplication.
- Monitoring, Security & Observability: Own and evolve our monitoring, security and analytics platforms.
- PQ is our in-house product for player management and operations. It underpins core business processes and supports our players.
Reporting to the Product Lead, you'll collaborate with the Engineering Manager, other Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that keep players at the heart of what we do - by empowering developers with Platform and strengthening operations with PQ. You'll drive impactful initiatives in an outcome-focused environment, embracing emerging ways of working to deliver results that matter.
What You Will Do
These are the responsibilities you'll take on - balancing product strategy with day-to-day product ownership. You don't need experience in each of the below; what matters is your attitude, ability to learn, collaborate, and deliver outcomes.
- Product strategy & roadmap: Support the Product Lead in shaping Enablement Tribe strategy and co-create transparent, value-based roadmaps with engineers and stakeholders.
- Day-to-day product ownership: Act as the Product Owner with your squad - clarifying requirements, prioritising the backlog, supporting queries, and working closely with engineers to deliver impact.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with engineering, design, operations, and fellow Product Managers to align requirements, delivery plans, and priorities.
- Modern delivery: Enable effective ways of working such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives to ship high-quality outcomes.
- Measurement & communication: Define success metrics, embed analytics in delivery, and keep stakeholders engaged with clear updates, demos, and milestones.
Requirements
We don't expect you to tick every box. If you bring most of these skills and the role excites you, we'd love to hear from you.
Experience & Product Mindset
- Comfortable discussing APIs, integrations, developer tools and reliability topics, and confident weighing trade-offs to guide product decisions (without needing to be hands-on).
- Proven product management / ownership experience, with enough technical fluency to partner effectively with engineers, architects, and data teams. You don't need to be an ex-developer but you should be comfortable engaging with technical concepts and trade-off.
- A player-first mindset ensuring even behind-the-scenes platforms and tools translate into great experiences that build trust with our players.
- End-to-end product lifecycle experience: discovery, prioritisation, delivery, measurement and iteration. Experience with platform, internal tooling or developer-experience products is a strong plus.
